Minimally Invasive Approach: Advanced Theory and Intensive Hands-On Training

The early correction of Craniosynostosis using endoscopic techniques has revolutionized the treatment of this pediatric pathology. This intensive course offers comprehensive training to master the endoscopic approach, a preferred alternative for selected cases, which drastically reduces operative time, blood loss, and hospital stay compared to traditional open surgeries.

Key Training Advantages

  • Mastery of Endoscopic Technique: Acquire the skill to perform osteotomy and release of affected cranial sutures through minimal incisions.

  • Reduced Morbidity: Understand patient selection criteria and optimal surgical timing to maximize the benefits of this minimally invasive technique in neonates and infants.

  • Essential Hands-On Component: The centerpiece of the course is intensive practice. You will work with high-fidelity 3D models that replicate the different forms of craniosynostosis (scaphocephaly, trigonocephaly, plagiocephaly).

Practical Training Includes:

  • Specific Instrumentation: Familiarization with and use of pediatric endoscopes, high-speed burrs, and piezoelectric devices.

  • Guided Practice: Performance of osteotomies and linear craniotomies, simulation of post-surgical helmet or band placement (postoperative management).

  • 3D Planning: Use of surgical planning software for navigation and preoperative analysis of cranial deformities.

Aimed at:

  • Pediatric Neurosurgeons.

  • Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgeons focused on craniofacial pathology.

  • Residents interested in minimally invasive neurosurgery.

Elevate the standard of pediatric care. This technique not only offers better aesthetic and functional outcomes but also establishes a new protocol for early recovery.

Limited spots available to guarantee personalized training at the workstations!
